Music History

Taylor’s is best known for it’s tradition of a friendly atmosphere and great live music. Regular appearances by Curtis Salgado in the 1970’s. Blues Traveler in the 80’s and Widespread Panic in the 90’s all highlight the proud recent history of this establishment. During Blues jams of the late 1970’s and early 80’s, it was not uncommon to see Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughn or BB King grace the stage. Celebrities frequented this site including the late John Belushi and other Saturday Night Live Cast members during the filming of “Animal House” in the late 1970’s. It’s also noted that the idea for the original “Blues Brothers” came from a night spent here by Belushi watching Curtis Salgado perform. (Source: NightOutEugene.com)
