The Sires were from Eugene/Springfield. We were together for 5 years, from 1964 to 1969. We had three night clubs. One in Florence, Oakridge, and downtown Eugene, The Great Room Ball Room.
We won the Lane County Battle of bands, Eugene JC’s, and we came in second in the Northwest in 1966 (behind the Gentleman Wild) in Salem. I’ve played with some of the best.. Dick and Dee Dee, back up band for the Kingsmen and Gary Louis and the Playboys.
I was very young, playing some of my first big tour gigs at the age of 14. Before even then, I was playing with different types of bands. – Ron Craig, April 2004 (Source: NW Bands)
