Rockus

Categories: 1970s, 1980s, Band, Eugene, Rock

Rockus was a three piece power trio based in Eugene, Oregon.

Active Years: Late 1970’s- early 1980’s

Members:

  • Dave Bruell – bass and vocals
  • Jeff Capps – drums
  • Michael Souther – guitar and vocals

We found our name (and style) when the police came to the house at which we were rehearsing and cited us for “loud and raucous music.”

After Jeff Capps left the band, in June of 1979, Rockus worked with a series of drummers, including Eric Franz, Duke Pippitt (who would later become the drummer for The Secrets) and Doug Kaufman. – Source: Michael Souther’s website
