John Henry’s (1992-2002)

Cherry Poppin’ Daddies played opening night August 1992. Since then generations of college students have danced in the “big old funky room” to the music of national and local rock bands.

Building History

St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County, who currently owns the property, tore down the building shortly after John Henry’s closed it’s doors May 3, 2002. John Henry’s and the other businesses on the 100 block of East 11th Avenue were evicted in order to start construction on a low-income housing project.

In 2002 John Henry’s relocated to 77 West Broadway
