Dottie Chase – Oregon Entertainment Agency

Categories: 1960s, 1970s, Eugene, Promoter/Manager

Dorothy “Dottie” Chase started the Oregon Entertainment Agency in 1966.

Business History

1966 – 1972 Located at 119 E Broadway NE corner straight up 2 floors.  Building was later torn down  so had to move

1972 – 1978  Located at 1550 High St (2 story building)

Recently, I had the pleasure to sit down with Dottie and ask her about her promotion experience.

Question: How did you got into the promotion business?

“All the organizations I belonged to always asked me to put the entertainment together for the event…so  I decided, why not start a business doing this. This was during the time of the Beatles and the flower child generation.  The big promoters were in San Francisco. It was the Acid Rock era with Tim O’Leary, Kesey and the Further bus.  I was booking out of Eugene and Southern Oregon College… I did events, clubs, special events.”
