Jan 29, 1939 – President’s Ball with Carl Rooen and his nine-piece orchestra. Feature numbers will be presented by Stewart Lay, accordionist. Howard and Isbelle Rooen and Betty Wykoff will be other entertainers of the evening.

Mid 1942 – Carl and his wife moved to Edmonton, Alta, Canada in 1942, then to Skagway, Alaska.
Moved back to Eugene…
Dec 22, 1948 – The Kozy Korner Kafe (also seen as cozy corner) owned by Carl Rooen of Eugene who is manager of the Elks dance Band at Eugene. Irene Montgomery is in charge of the restaurant and Rooen will run the tavern.
Aug 8, 1950 – Council okays building permit at Creswell… dance hall permit for Carl to build dancing and roller skating hall. The hall will open about Oct 1. (Pine Ballroom)
